A gaming weekend does not need a schedule. A little variety can help, though. Think of your library like a playlist: a few different moods, ready for whenever you feel like pressing play.

Start with a comfort pick

Keep something familiar within reach. A game you already know can make it easy to get started, especially when you have spent the week learning and deciding things elsewhere.

Familiar does not have to mean repetitive. You could try a different route, a new difficulty or simply enjoy the parts you already love.

Add one new world

Choose a game you have been curious about and give its opening some uninterrupted attention. Resist the urge to compare every moment with your favourites.

You are not deciding whether it deserves a place in your personal hall of fame. You are finding out whether you would like to spend a little more time there.

Keep a change of pace ready

A quick race, a puzzle or a quiet building session can reset the mood between longer adventures. Different kinds of play ask for different kinds of attention.

Leave some time unplanned. The most enjoyable choice might be a game you return to unexpectedly, or the decision to step away and come back later.
